Welcome to Narnia Cessnock
Nestled in the heart of the Hunter Valley, our Prep offers a Christian early childhood environment, coupled with a Kindergarten readiness that only an on-site Prep class can provide.
At Narnia, we aim to provide an environment where all children can learn and feel confident in themselves as learners. We believe that all children have something to offer and that each one is of great value.
Our Prep program follows both the Early Year Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum and is presented as a progression of learning making for a seamless transition into school.
Our Early Learning Centre for children aged 0-4 years is still to be built. It will be situated on site at St Philip’s Christian College, Cessnock and will add to the continuity of learning experiences for young children as well as offering the very best in love, care and support for our precious little ones. We will keep you posted on progress.
We hope that you will join us on the early learning journey here at Narnia Cessnock and we look forward to meeting you.
Meet Our Staff
Narnia staff are educated and experienced in Early Childhood education. We follow the Early Years Learning Framework to provide developmentally appropriate activities which are stimulating, challenging and creative and which cater for individual needs and interests. We provide flexible programs which promote self-discovery, spontaneous learning, independence and a positive self-esteem.
Our greatest aim is for all children to feel safe and secure in a loving Christian environment. This is the greatest entry point for learning.
I have been working in Preschool and Primary school settings since 2009 and Early Learning has always been my perfect fit. I completed my Bachelor of Education in 2011.
I love watching each child grow according to their unique God-given gifts, skills and temperament. I am passionate and intentional about creating environments and experiences, based on children’s interests and needs, to prepare them with confidence and resilience for school and life.
Being a mum of a beautiful son and daughter has given me perspective and compassion as a teacher. I look forward to partnering with all the families and the team at Narnia.

It is such a blessing to be able to work within Narnia’s supportive Christian environment, alongside amazing colleagues that share my passion and commitment to children’s learning. I am so humbled to be a part of your child’s learning journey, supporting them in realising their uniqueness, potential and aspirations, as they grow into incredible men and women of God.
I attend New Heights Christian Fellowship church with my family every Sunday and love being involved with the children’s ministry. In my down time, I enjoy playing sports and games with my brothers, listening to music and spending time with friends.

I started working in the childcare industry in 2011. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Teaching (Birth-12 years). Working with children is my passion and purpose. It is a blessing to come to work every day with an amazing team of educators and witness the beautiful children in our care grow and develop. This stage of their learning journey is so important and to foster children’s learning is both an honour and a privilege.

I completed my Certificate 3 in Early childhood in 2014. Early childhood quickly became a passion of mine. I believe the early years of a child’s life are the most fundamental for their development and that it is a gift to be a part of the journey where they get to explore and achieve new things each day. I began my time at Narnia Prep in 2021.
My family is a part of Abermain Mission Hall. On the weekends we enjoy being outdoors at the beach, going to parks and just spending time together as a family.

I’m Kayla, I’m a wife and a mother to an adventurous toddler. I’ve worked in the administration sector for 10 years. I like to spend my spare time exploring bush tracks with my toddler in a hiking carrier on my back, going for a bike ride with my family or spending time at the beach. I’m excited to be part of the Narnia Cessnock team and I look forward to building and maintaining positive relationships with the families accessing Narnia.
