Nestled in the heart of the Hunter Valley, our Prep offers a Christian early childhood environment, coupled with a Kindergarten readiness that only an on-site Prep class can provide.
At Narnia, we aim to provide an environment where all children can learn and feel confident in themselves as learners. We believe that all children have something to offer and that each one is of great value.
Our Prep program follows both the Early Year Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum and is presented as a progression of learning making for a seamless transition into school.
Our Early Learning Centre for children aged 0-4 years is still to be built. It will be situated on site at St Philip’s Christian College, Cessnock and will add to the continuity of learning experiences for young children as well as offering the very best in love, care and support for our precious little ones. We will keep you posted on progress.
We hope that you will join us on the early learning journey here at Narnia Cessnock and we look forward to meeting you.
Head of Early Childhood.
Meet Our Staff
Narnia staff are educated and experienced in Early Childhood education. We follow the Early Years Learning Framework to provide developmentally appropriate activities which are stimulating, challenging and creative and which cater for individual needs and interests. We provide flexible programs which promote self-discovery, spontaneous learning, independence and a positive self-esteem.
Our greatest aim is for all children to feel safe and secure in a loving Christian environment. This is the greatest entry point for learning.
I am an Early Childhood Teacher with many years’ experience teaching children in Pre-school, Prep and Early Learning centre programs as well as teaching school aged children from Kindergarten to year 4.
Early Childhood is a significant time in the development of the child as a person. Each one develops and matures at their own pace and will thrive in an environment where they feel safe and secure. I believe in creating environments where children feel a sense of belonging and are excited about learning. Every child is ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’ and contributes something unique to this world.
It is such a blessing to be able to work within Narnia’s supportive Christian environment, alongside amazing colleagues that share my passion and commitment to children’s learning. I am so humbled to be a part of your child’s learning journey, supporting them in realising their uniqueness, potential and aspirations, as they grow into incredible men and women of God.
I attend New Heights Christian Fellowship church with my family every Sunday and love being involved with the children’s ministry. In my down time, I enjoy playing sports and games with my brothers, listening to music and spending time with friends.
I am excited to join the passionate Narnia team this year. I have been working with Prep at Cessnock for the past three years and now I have the pleasure to work for Narnia. I am currently studying Early Childhood and Primary School Teaching at Avondale College. My desire is to foster children’s learning so they can develop life-long skills.
In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors; from camping to water sports with friends as well as attending Church.
I completed the Diploma of Community Services (Children’s Services) way back in 2002. I have enjoyed working alongside children for over 20 years, in Early Childhood environments. Also, in learning support with children from Kinder to Year 4 within the school environment.
I am most passionate about people, children in particular. I believe we are all extremely unique, fearfully and wonderfully made. I enjoy encouraging and supporting others as they discover and learn who they are. It is a privilege to share the adventure with children as they explore and discover their individual gifts, qualities and strengths.
It is a privilege to be working as a team member at Cessnock Narnia as an educator and administration assistant. I have been working with children for over twenty years which included a day care worker, Sunday school teacher and kids club assistant.
I am happily married to Adrian and have two wonderful children.
My interests are my family, piano, running, swimming, camping, bike riding and gardening; I attend and help out at The Grainery Church in Mayfield. I look forward to meeting, and working with the children and their parents.
