Welcome to Narnia Young Parents Waratah
Welcome to Narnia Young Parents. We are delighted that you are interested in learning more about our centre.
Narnia Young Parents exists to provide a supportive partnership for our parents who are studying at the Young Parents Hub. This site has been designed to introduce you to our program and the unique environment it provides for nurturing the development of your child.
We understand that as much as our young parents are determined to improve their own circumstances, their motivation is to provide a loving environment for their little ones and to improve the future prospects for their babies.
Our fully qualified Christian Educators understand that the first few years of a child’s life are a time of extraordinary development. Whilst their parents are studying in the classroom, the children are engaged in a stimulating, early learning program.
The student classroom is adjacent to Narnia, enabling the parents to participate in the daily nurturing of their children. The curriculum for some of the courses studied by the parents also incorporates activities planned for the babies.
Each baby and toddler we care for is a special gift and uniquely created. We are eager to get to know each child and watch their journey of discovering all that God has created them to be.
Leaders in Early Childhood Education and Care
Meet Our Staff
Narnia staff are educated and experienced in Early Childhood education. We follow the Early Years Learning Framework to provide developmentally appropriate activities which are stimulating, challenging and creative and which cater for individual needs and interests. We provide flexible programs which promote self-discovery, spontaneous learning, independence and a positive self-esteem.
Our greatest aim is for all children to feel safe and secure in a loving Christian environment. This is the greatest entry point for learning.
I love to work in partnership with families to provide quality early childhood education. I place immense value in learning through play and ensuring that children have every opportunity to reach their utmost potential. I have been extremely blessed to work within the St Philips community as a Director for both early childhood and OOSH services since completing my Associate Diploma in Social Science. I am currently completing my Degree in Early Childhood Education. My husband and I have three beautiful children and attend The Rock Church in Port Stephens
I have been working as an Early Childhood Teacher since 1998 and have had the privilege to work in a variety of settings including preschool and long day care and more recently, adult education where I have nurtured and taught the next generation of Early Childhood Educators.
I have a passion for educating young children and developing strong, nurturing relationships that ensure they feel safe and secure in my care. I strongly believe that children will develop the skills and knowledge they need when they have a secure base of love and understanding in which to gently explore the world around. I look forward to making connections with the families at Narnia Young Parents as we share their child’s journey together. I truly believe that children are a gift to be delighted in and nurtured every day.
I have 2 teenage children who my husband and I delight in– we enjoy camping together, walks on the beach and eating out!
I have a dual degree in Social Work and Theology. Since I was little I have always had a passion for working with others especially children and their families. I love supporting others to grow and believe in walking along side families to assist them in reaching their goals.
When I am not at work I am usually spending time with my Husband and Daughter playing at the river near our home.
I started in Early Childhood Education (almost by accident!) as a nanny.
Children are fantastic and I learn so much from them! I started working with young parents in 2002 and am loving being part of the Narnia team.
I also enjoy making creative things from scrap wood and metal, old movies and camping. I am married and have two wonderful step daughters!
Hello my name is Karen and I have been working at Narnia since 2014. Prior to coming to Narnia I was working in Aged Care, but have always worked with children through my involvement in Kids Clubs and Sunday School. I am passionate about Early Childhood Education, and love being a part of children’s learning and development. I am married and have three amazing young adult children. My favourite way to relax is by walking at the beach or watching a good movie. I’m excited to be a part of the team at Narnia Young Parents.
Working with children is a strong passion of mine. Being able to show Gods love to the children through their early years is a big goal of mine.
I started working with Narnia in April 2018 as a trainee and have since finished my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. I am currently studying my Diploma.
I am so blessed to work in such an amazing place such as Narnia. The children are always teaching me new things and challenging me to learn more. I live at home with my mum and my younger sister. The things that I enjoy most are hanging out with family and friends and playing sport. I enjoy being a part of the youth team at Macquarie Life Church. I also enjoy going to the beach in my spare time.
My career in Early Childhood Education began in 2017 when I undertook my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Since then, I have studied my Diploma and become a mother to my wonderful one year old son.
I believe that every child deserves equitable care and education. I recognise that each child is different, with varying needs, interests and strengths. With a supportive and loving environment children can grow emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially. I strive to support children through play-based learning by encouraging connections, creativity, freedom and imagination.
I am so excited to join a passionate, caring and supportive team here at Narnia Young Parents
I am a proud Aboriginal woman from the Kamilaroi nation. In 2014 I obtained certificate 3 in early childhood whilst working as a trainee. I love my culture and everything about working in the early childhood sector and in turn this has driven my passion and interest in teaching children about Aboriginal culture in early childhood. I hope to share my cultural knowledge with the staff and families of Narnia Young Parents Waratah
